Hello world!

This is a new way of reading literature in the language classroom!

With the webblog of the G-course 12 En at the Gesamtschule Nohfelden Türkismühle, we try to bring more fun in dealing with literature, in this case About a Boy by Nick Hornby.

I hope you’ll enjoy using this site to give your feedbacks on the novel and other topics, read your mates’ articles and comment them. Maybe you come up with new ideas for this blog, too?

Stay tuned!

    Chapter one( contents):

    Eleven- year-old Marcus and his mum are talking to each other. His mother has split up from her friend Roger. Marcus wants to help her not to be so sad. He suggests to watch a nature film.

    In my opinion they both seem to be very simple persons and actually they haven´t to tell anything to each other.

  4. Anne-Kathrin Klesen Says:

    I think the first, third, fifth and seventh chapter are chapters where you only can get information about Marcus and his problems: He has moved with his mother from Cambridge to London, there are problems in school with the other pupils and his mother Fiona is depressive, but Marcus likes to visit his father Clive and his new girlfriend in Cambridge. The chapters two, four and six are about Will Freeman and his life: He has a lot of money and doesn’t need to work, he is a single and has spare time, in this free time he looks TV, hears music or attracs women. His new tactic is to go to single mothers and tell them he was also divorced and he had a son and of course he had a lot of problems. Actually in the eighth chapter the story realy starts, because Marcus and Will meet for the first time.

    i think we should the contents in more parts. For example contents one , two , three. I think it isn´t so good when we make 1-4 in one contents.

    If you use any nice word or phrase please add them in the glossary. Thus everybody in the course can benefit from them.
